A leading taste maker within the realms of music, arts and culture, Sullivan is a Melbourne based DJ, producer and curator with nearly two decades of experience working with some of the most trail-blazing festivals, parties and institutions across Australia and Europe. 

As part of the curators and programming consultants for Dark Mofo, Electronic Music Conference and Next Wave , Sullivan has worked with artists such as Junglepussy, Empress Of, Sampa the Great, Mallrat and many others.

As a DJ, Sullivan’s eclectic taste in all genres upbeat and dance-inducing has seen them perform iconic sets at Dark Mofo’s Night Mass, NGV, Melbourne Music Week, Meredith Music Festival, as well as Berlin’s most famous clubs such as Gegen and Berghain. They’ve also performed along Le1f and Azealia Banks. 

Originally from Brisbane, Sullivan’s career started in 2005 as the founding member, vocalist and drummer of indie rock band I Heart Hiroshima. The band’s successful career saw them playing support slots for artists such as Gang of Four, Cat Power, Peaches, Ratatat and Shonen Knife, as well as being praised by NME, Q Magazine and the BBC. 

Their career as one of Australia’s lushest drummers, has seen Sullivan tour as a session drummer for the likes of Sia, Peaches, Jens Lekman, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Robert Forster and Creep.

In 2011, Sullivan relocated to Berlin, where they put on their own parties as Sloth Collective and Boo Hoo at venues as renowned as Berghain. These events involved innovative artists such as Chairlift, Electrelane, Karin & Olof Dreijer (The Knife) amongst many others. In 2016, Boo Hoo was crowned as one of Berlin’s Top Ten parties in TimeOut magazine.

In 2017 Sullivan started working as a booking agent and event coordinator for music company UXS, working with pioneering local and international artists and tours such as Sevdaliza, Le1f, Ms. Boogie, Dai Burger, Alok Vaid-Menon, Lady Leshurr, Ah Mer Ah Su and Miss Blanks.

Sullivan’s extensive career and all-rounder approach has seen them work with leading commercial festivals as well as cult underground parties , showcasing their love for business strategy as much as anything that’s innovative and a cultural statement. 

Throughout their career, they have worked and collaborated with the likes of Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, All Tomorrow’s Parties, CMJ, Bigsound and SXSW, among others.

Their forward thinking taste in music as well as their push for healthier cultural narratives and practices has seen them carve a unique path within the creative industries.
